UK VISA REGULATIONS
Are you done with your student application procedure? Now it’s time for the final step that is the Student Visa that will permit you to proceed with your further education in UK. Here are the steps you need to go through to finally obtain your required Student Visa.
1. Whether you QUALIFY or not?
Before applying for UK visa, check whether you are eligible for the same or not.
For study purpose, one needs to apply for ‘Student Visa’ that comes under the category of ‘Tier 4’. You must be able to meet following conditions –
3. Apply online
Next step is to apply online. You will need to complete and submit a visa application form online at Visa4UK.
After completing your online application form, take a print out of the same and sign it. In case you don’t have access to printer at the time of applying, you can do that later by re login to your account. Your application will be saved.
Next step is to book an appointment at the visa application centre using online appointment calendar. If you wish, you can change or cancel your booking from online itself. Your appointment must be within 90 days of submission of your online visa application. After this, you will receive an E-mail containing your application number (GWF Reference). Note down the number for further reference to track your application status.
Last but not the least, before you sign your application form, you must ensure that the information provided by you is accurate and your supporting documents are genuine and unaltered. If you do not have any required document, then you should explain the reason for the same. Be cautious of providing any false document.
4. Pay your application fee
There are 4 ways to pay your visa application fee:
Payment at Standard Chartered Bank
You can opt for paying your fee from Standard Chartered Bank. You can find a list of some of the branches of this bank that accepts visa application fee on the right side of this page. There is no additional charge for this payment service.
The bank will issue a demand draft in favor of the 'The British High Commission', payable in:
Demand Draft from a Nationalized or Foreign Bank
You can pay your fee through Demand draft also issued by a nationalized or a foreign bank. Bank charges for this service will vary.
The demand draft must be in favor of the 'The British High Commission', payable in:
Payment at the visa application centre
Or, you can pay the visa application fee directly at the visa application centre at the time of submission of your visa application. Standard Chartered Bank facilities are located in all visa application centers for this purpose and will apply a service charge of Rs.260 (inclusive of taxes) for this facility.
The other mode of payment is online. You can pay your visa application fee online by using a Visa or MasterCard, credit or debit card. No other cards are acceptable.
Once you made your payment online, you will receive a confirmation mail from our payment provider ‘Worldpay’ confirming that we have received your payment.
5. Appointment Day
On the appointment day make sure you reach the Embassy on time there, along with your application, you need to submit your biometric information that is facial photograph and fingerprints.
