“A good reader is a good scorer”, is what every faculty at Mnemonic Education believes in. The Academic Department has incorporated a ‘Reading Marathon’ for its students to inculcate and foster reading habits. The assignment requires the students to provide book reviews based upon their reading. Not only have the students benefited in terms of developing better vocabulary and sentence constructions but also enhancing their analytical and critical thinking
The students get the freedom to choose from a range of genres such as Psychology, History, Literature, Thriller, Politics and many others. The purpose is for the students to explore their interests in the most holistic manner and finalize the one that entices them the most. The faculty and students participate in the endeavor whole-heartedly and the success rate has been marvelous!
While the students struggle with the reading sections of various exams, this practice has made them comfortable with unknown passages and understand the importance of logical linking, summaries, main idea and over all coherence. What is even more interesting to observe is that it has also helped the students in writing comprehensive essays. They have experienced a broadening of their creativity by making use of innovative citations and examples to substantiate their point of views.
Keeping student’s utmost interest in mind, Mnemonic Education tries to include new strategies in the training process so that a student can receive maximum benefits from the training sessions provided by Mnemonic Education and the results are evident!.
